The Greater Blue Mountains Drive offers a variety of itinerary planning tools and an app provides a guided journey along the drive and its trails. This app will help you get the best out of your drive through this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage-listed region.

Motorways provide direct road links form Sydney to the Blue Mountains. Car rentals are available at Sydney Airport or various locations throughout Sydney. Please note, there are limited car hire companies opportunities in the upper mountains.


NSW TrainLink run the Intercity train services to and from the Blue Mountains. There are many daily services stopping at all the Blue Mountains Villages & Towns including a new express "Tourist train" service on weekdays departing Central at 8:50am to start your Blue Mountains adventure.More information about Intercity train services can be found at

NSW TrainLink also runs Regional train and coach services which travel through the Blue Mountains. More information about these services can be found here:

A wide selection of coach companies depart from Sydney on a daily basis for day or overnight sightseeing tours.

Two local transport companies, Explorer Bus and Trolley Tours offer hop on hop off sightseeing services around the major attractions in Katoomba and Leura. Both company's offices are adjacent to Katoomba railway station or look for the 'red poles' along the routes to hail a driver. A shuttle bus also operates between Scenic World, Echo Point (Three Sisters) and Katoomba Railway Station. Local buses operate throughout the mountains until 5pm daily.


Blue Mountains taxi services operates in and around the mountains with ranks at major tourist staging points, including railway stations. Access cabs are available on request.

Delve deeper into the chasms and explore more than140 kilometres of walking tracks, go canyoning, abseiling or eco adventuring with one of our Blue Mountains tour operators on a guided sightseeing or 4WD tour. For some wind in your hair try a tri-bike guided motor bike tour to feel the wind breeze by.
